Segregation in housing is here now and always has been….” according to Caroline
Peattle, Executive Director of Fair Housing in Northern California. Laws have been past
but not enacted until after the assassination of M.L.K. Efforts of African-Americans to
build wealth was thwarted due to high risk adjustable loans. Redlining used by real estate
sales determined where minorities lived and the schools they attended, all separate and not
equal.
