Kiva is an international microfinance nonprofit with a mission to expand financial access to help underserved communities thrive.

Through Kiva's work, students can pay tuition, women can start businesses, farmers are able to invest in equipment, sanitation is improved, safe water and solar power secured, and families can afford needed emergency care.

A subgroup of MVSFP meets quarterly to review the loans they have made through Kiva and to select new recipients.

Over the years they have invested $2,545 which, with credit from repayments, has allowed them to lend a total of $7,175 in

141 loans to 43 countries. Loans are usually made to individuals or groups in denominations of $25 or $50 and combined with those of other lending teams.
